According to the figures of Korean Movie Ameliorative Commission, last weekend, FATE has attracted 270.102 audience, raised the total number of audience to 345.589 participations. Although FATE limits children under 18, the number of tickets sold is still satisfactory.

The second place is new Hollywood film 10000 B.C with 188.764 audience. 10000 B.C has sold more than 840000 tickets which is not a bad result.

It’s that time of the summer again – that time of the summer every four years, that is. I know you who live in enlightened areas of the world get to see more soccer/football than you probably ever want to see. But for those of us who live in the US, this is the summer we look forward to.

Yes, we have MLS soccer, and yes, our sons and daughters play AYSO soccer, and yes, even high schools, colleges and universities are getting in on the act at last. But it’s not the same.

Nothing is the same as watching the World Cup.

I got seriously hooked when I spent most of a summer in Europe 20 years ago. It seems like yesterday – except the kids I was traveling with now have kids of their own. But I still look forward to it because, oddly, it’s the only time I get to watch soccer in the US (that I’ve found) where the cameras stay back far enough to watch the action.

Of course the cameras still give us close-ups now and then, but not the way they do in MLS soccer, where you can’t ever tell what’s going on but you can tell which players shaved that morning.

So I like watching the World Cup for the action. But I also, admittedly, like it for the men.

I can’t help it. I like watching fit, agile men run and run and run. I almost considered putting up a half dozen photos of soccer players’ legs here on the blog because they are, simply, worth ogling.

But so are the men themselves.

I am used to seeing American baseball players or football (American version) or hockey players. There are occasionally ones worth a second glance. But not nearly as many as there are in every World Cup match.

There are the ones who get all the press like David Beckham (not in this year’s tournament but certainly still a part of soccer lore) and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo who is gracing this month’s cover of the UK edition of Vanity Fair along with Ivory Coast football star, Didier Drogba.

Lots of ogle-worthy gents in this issue besides Didier and Cristiano. But also lots they left out.

It’s hard to remember them all. Just yesterday as I watched Uruguay play South Africa, Diego Forlan crossed my radar. I’ll be keeping an eye on him.

While I wasn’t looking the USA provided Heath Pearce and Benny Feilhaber to go with Carlos Bocanegra.

I’m looking forward to another glimpse on Friday.

In the meantime I had Spaniards Cesc Fabregas and Iker Casillas to entertain me Wednesday.

And I have France’s Yoann Gourcuff on Thursday. There’s no end (well, until July 11) of my enjoyment.

Dear Earth, there's someone special named Ed. Please keep him safe and let him be in the right way. Because I am travelling for Europe and South Africa, so far away from him... I trust you to take care of him....

He always knows how to bring my smile back. He always know how to make me burst in tears. He always understands me the way I am. And I always miss him. Though he's very far away, I haven't felt any burden at all. I am not feeling too melancholic. Nor feeling guilty for not being by his side. I miss him, but in a way that the longing itself is not torturing me, nor giving me anxiety. Knowing he's safe and sound, that's really enough. Funny, I have never felt this way before, with any man.

He never promises me anything. He never said anything too romantic, too sweet. He never said that he loved me, nor he wanted to be with me. And I never said so too. Wishing him well, healthy, and happy, I think it's all more than enough. We enjoy our chat, our moment together, and even sometimes he would call me. Just hearing his voice, bring me back to my own spirit and hope, that everything would going to be nice and fine. That I am fine. I am so fine.

All About Insecurity

My boyfriend (there, I used the word again. Still feeling kinda strange, though) was on an outbound training for the past three days. He returned yesterday, and I was glad that I texted him the day before, asking his availability. Guess what, I am not miserable at all. I am looking forward to seeing him again very soon, and playing some dirty tricks.

So everything was fine. Or, I thought fine. Usually, when everything's so damned smooth, I start bitching around about anything. And, unfortunately, that happens too, now.

Everything begins as it was my birthday today. He called me this morning, saying happy birthday to me, and then all his sweet wishes on me, and some on us. Then he asked me if I want any present. I told him that I didn't want any present. He was okay at first, then soon, he texted me again, saying he was at some kind of plaza, and he's looking forward to buy me something. That's sweet. Thoughtful. But is that necessary? I gave up, and practically told me what I currently plan on buying. I didnt know if he ended up buying the thing, but I certainly hope that he didnt.

And this little thing has made me thing. I dont wanna find any excuse, which is so lame. But it's just that giving gift is not a habit in my family. My mom has never given any presents at my birthdays, because there's never been any birthday party at home. We never celebrate. It's just the same ordinary day, from year to year. My parents didnt even give me any presents for any academical achievements I have accomplished. Never. I grow up thinking that having had my parents is already a gift, being born to the world is already a blessing, and my academic achievements were all something proper, not extraordinary. By saying proper, I mean that I should have accomplished those, because my parents are giving their best to put me in school. So, no gift. At all.

The point is, I dont really understand how a gift or a present could be tied to showing that you care for somebody. It certainly proves that you're sweet, you're thoughtful, but does it prove it anything else? Does it serve as measurement of anything?

Oh yes, I know I have been a bitch. I didnt tell him all this. I know that I have made this becoming much more complicated than it already is. Which is, at the end of the day, I know I have something to work out here in my department. I wanna love him in a better way. :-

I have a Green card and also my wife has GC .My wife is expected to deliver a baby.Shw wants the delivery to be in India and then come back...in that case what VISA will the new baby have to apply US when my wife returns back to US.

Appreciate your help in this regard.

She has come back to US before child turns 2 and it must be their first trip to US. No visa is needed for child and child will be provided green card on arrival.

You need to carry documenation with you as not all airlines are aware of this rule that child can travel without visa.

Again, it must be their trip back to US after child's birth.

Friends / Gurus,

Please advice or suggest.

Here is my situation, filed I 485 in July 2007 and No FP done.

Called USCIS in Mar 2008 and opened a SR and got SR for my self in hard copy and an email for my wife that some one contacted about your case for FP and a notice will be mailed to with specific time and date.

And I waited this long and no notice has arrived for me and dates are current in Aug 2008.

Today (July 21 2008) I called USCIS and used the following menus.
2-6-1-(Enter Receipt Number)-1-1-3-1

And a representative has greeted very well and asked bunch of questions and asked to answer yes or no (no details just yes or no)

Then she said as the Background Clearance has not been done for my case, they would not send the FP. And to open a SR I have to wait at least 441 days from Receipt date of I485 to open SR.

When I asked about my wife's case, she replied the same in no FP has done then probably she has not got her background clearance yet. so need to wait for 441 days for her case too.

Then I said my dates are current and if no FP done then I would loose my chance and she replied that until background clearance is done no FP will be sent and they would not touch the case until then.

Friends / Gurus, any advice or please let me know how to follow up on this. I do not want to loose this opportunity.

Can someone who has added his/her spouse please provide with a list of documents required to file spouse i-485 after primary has been filed? Can we collect a list? There seem to be a lot of people in this situation.

G-325A - Biographic Info
I-134 - Affidavit of support
I-765 - EAD
I-131 - Advance Parole
I-693 - Medical Exam

What else is required? Please add to the list. Also, has anyone done this on their own?

Hello,
I have not seen the 485 receipt notice come through and its been over 6 months since I applied. Down the line after a few months we will have to start preparing for EAD and AP renewal and I take it we will need a copy of the 485 receipt notice to file? Any thoughts.

FYI. I am also in similar situation. Applied on 07/02. I haven't received 485, EAD & AP receipts until now, though I have received FP Notice, EAD & AP Approval. I have called USCIS and made them create Service Request for which I didnot receive response even after 120 days. I took infopass appointment and the officer said that they have sent the receipt notice's in Sep' 07 and were not delivered back. But, me or my attorney haven't received receipts until now.

I have a MS. My lawyer says this is a EB3 application. 140 still pending. The receipt however says "Skilled Worker". Any possibility my 140 gets approved as EB2?

Anything can happen with USCIS. But i think the position's MINIMUM req is BS+3 years exp and that is EB3.

Hello,

I had applied for the H1 Extension in Sep 2009 and it went to Security Check. My Visa and I94 expired in Nov 2009. Recently, H1b transfer has been applied, and got the I129 approval but EOS(I94) has been rejected by saying that

" An Extension of Stay(EOS) mayn't be approved for an appllicant who failed to maintain his/her previously accorded status or where such status expired before the application or petition was filed( see CFR 214.1(c)(4) and 248.1(b))".

New employer says that i can't work for him till I94 accepts. So he is suggesting me togo India and get Visa stamped.

As i can work only 240 days from my I94 expiry date, i can't work after July 2010
so am planning to go to India to attend the embassy as soon as possible.

Some are saying that i am no supposed to stay here as I94 expired but when i says to my employer he says that you can stay and work as long as the current extension decision is pending. so i am scared about it. could you plz help me out on this.

Am also wondering that is there any chances of gettinga Visa rejected in India as my extension is in pending or they are going to keep in hold till my security
clearance is done. I am in fix what to do??.

Any help is appreciated.

Your I-94 expired and I-94 extension got denied. In that case you can not stay as you are accumulating the illegal presence. I am not sure when you are saying I94 rejected, what is the decision pending. If its not rejected and you got only RFE, you can stay still get the final decision.

If EB2-India receives around 20000 visas in 2011, the EB2-India priority dates could move to between Feb 2007 and April 2007 depending on EB3-EB2 upgrades.
